Additional information: Son of D. M. Chamberlain, of The Rectory, Castledawson and the late Rev. George Chamberlain. He attended the Royal Belfast Academical Institution (RBAI) and lived in Carrickfergus before joining the navy. He served on a mime-sweeping vessel, which was torpedoed by a German submarine, U54, off the North Coast of Ireland.
